Cosmic Education

Our elementary curriculum, inspired by the Montessori concept known as Cosmic Education, highlights the interconnectedness of the world. It begins with the "Great Lessons," stories that provide a broad perspective in subjects like astronomy, earth science, biology, history, social studies, math, and language.

Life On the Farm

Recognizing the need for learning beyond the classroom, we expand educational experiences to our outdoor environments. Cosmic Roots sits on 18 acres in the heart of Georgetown, TX. This land happens to be an Edwards Aquifer and Berry Springs recharge zone. It presents a unique opportunity to educate children about environmental conservation, and sustainable practices, as well as understand our social responsibility through working with agencies like TCEQ and the USDA to work with their space in a socially responsible manner.

The rich and diverse mineral content of the soil will support diverse agricultural activities, allowing students to learn about farming, gardening, and sustainable food production firsthand.



Project-Based Learning

At Cosmic Roots, our students thrive through project-based learning that seamlessly integrates biology, grammar, art, and history, fostering advanced writing, critical thinking, and reading skills. We emphasize hands-on learning, with computer use introduced in Upper Elementary to teach essential skills such as keyboard layout, typing, and using Word and Excel. These foundational skills support math concepts and lay the groundwork for finance and entrepreneurship education, which continues into our adolescent program, ensuring students are well-prepared for the future.

The Herd Instinct

In the elementary years, social interests are strong. Dr. Montessori referred to this as the "herd instinct." Lessons and projects are conducted in small groups, fostering a sense of community and encouraging students to challenge themselves and support one another.
